Terms of Service
By booking a repair, using our website, or otherwise engaging with Appliance Geeks ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Offered
Appliance Geeks provides residential appliance repair services in the Portland metro area and Vancouver, WA, including but not limited to: refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and garbage disposals. All work is performed by licensed and certified technicians.
2. Booking and Scheduling
- Appointments can be scheduled online, by phone at (503) 850-0052, or by email.
- We provide a 2- to 4-hour arrival window. While we strive for on-time arrival, unexpected delays may occur and we will notify you promptly if your window changes.
- Same-day service is offered subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
3. Service Call Fee & Pricing
- A $99 service call fee covers the diagnostic visit. This fee is waived if you proceed with the repair at the same visit.
- You will receive a written estimate for parts and labor before any repair work begins.
- We do not start work without your explicit approval.
- Final cost may vary if additional issues are discovered during repair; any additional charges will be discussed and approved before work continues.
- Prices listed on our Prices page are starting prices and may vary based on brand, model, and parts required.
4. Cancellations & No-Shows
- You may cancel or reschedule your appointment at no cost up to 2 hours before the scheduled window.
- Cancellations within 2 hours of the appointment, or no-shows, may be charged a $50 trip fee.
- If our technician arrives and cannot access the appliance due to circumstances on your end, the $99 service call fee applies.
5. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of the repair, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, debit cards, cash, and Zelle.
- Returned-check fees may apply for any checks returned by your bank.
6. 90-Day Warranty
We provide a 90-day warranty on all parts we install and labor we perform. This warranty covers the specific part replaced and the specific repair performed. If the same issue recurs within 90 days, we will return at no additional charge to address it.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, or improper installation by others.
- Pre-existing problems unrelated to the repair we performed.
- Normal wear and tear, or new failures unrelated to the repair.
- Customer-supplied parts (unless we agreed in writing to install them).
7. Parts
- We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts whenever available. When OEM is unavailable or impractical, we use high-quality aftermarket parts of equal or better specification.
- Special-order parts typically arrive in 3–5 business days. Installation is scheduled as soon as the part arrives.
- Customer-supplied parts are accepted at our discretion. We do not warrant the function, fit, or longevity of parts we did not supply.
8. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate appliance brand, model, and problem description when booking.
- Ensure clear, safe access to the appliance.
- Be present (or have an authorized adult present) during the appointment window.
- Notify us in advance of pets, hazards, or special access requirements.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Appliance Geeks's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific repair giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages (such as loss of food due to refrigerator failure, water damage from pre-existing leaks, or loss of use of the appliance). We carry liability insurance for our work in your home.
10. Photos & Documentation
Our technicians may take photos of the appliance and the repair for our records and warranty documentation. We do not publish photos of your home or appliance publicly without your explicit consent.
11. Disputes
If you have a concern about our service, please contact us first at help@appliance-geeks.com or (503) 850-0052. We will work in good faith to resolve any issue. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Multnomah County, Oregon, under Oregon law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
